Anyone 12 years of age and older can apply to become a La Porte County Public Library volunteer.
A willingness to share your time and skills with the Library. If you are between the ages of 12 and 17, you will need parent or guardian permission to volunteer. If you are 18 years of age or older, you must successfully pass a background check.
We will work with you to set a schedule that works for you and the Library. Some volunteers have a specific time requirement they are trying to meet. Other volunteers want to volunteer on an ongoing basis. Evening and weekend hours are available.
Yes! If you are part of an organization, such as Scouts or 4-H, we ask that the Group Leader completes the volunteer application and is the contact for club volunteer assignments.

A member of our staff will contact you for a short interview and to answer any questions you may have about volunteering at the Library. All steps of the application process must be completed before you can volunteer at LPCPL.
