February is National Library Lovers’ Month! During this month-long celebration, we promote the significance of libraries, the programs they offer, and their impact on the communities they serve.

Recently, we discovered that the Library’s collection of microfilmed Michigan City newspapers had succumbed to Vinegar Syndrome. Vinegar Syndrome occurs when the acetate chemicals in safety film deteriorate and break down, making the film give off a vinegar aroma.

Over 125 students from La Porte County submitted art projects to the La Porte County Public Library Teen Art Competition. Students had the option to craft a sculpture, a painting or a landscape architect/playground design.
