Fish Lake Branch History
Fish Lake Branch opened on June 1, 1976, in its present location but in a different building. Prior to its opening, there was no branch library in Fish Lake.
The first building on the site was constructed in 1962 as a branch of First Merchants Bank. It was purchased by the Library in 1975 and converted to a branch of LPCPL. The building developed some serious structural problems over the course of time and fortunately there was enough property available that the Library was able to build a new facility in 2016 as a part of a major renovation project.
