Did you know reading with your child develops vocabulary and comprehension, nurtures a love for reading, and motivates children to want to learn to read?
Each week, children are invited to help choose the books we will read during storytime—encouraging active participation, building confidence, and cultivating excitement around reading. Families will also have time to read and explore books together.
Structured around the Every Child Ready to Read™ Curriculum, storytime is a great way to have fun while working on reading, social, and motor skills.
Join the Mobile Library in your neighborhood! La Porte County Public Library offers mobile library service that carries books, movies, and more to customers in our service area.
At the bookmobile, you can:
- Borrow popular books, DVDs, and more -- just like at the library!
- Get a library card or update your account
- Pick up holds and return items
- Get answers to your questions or help finding community resources
Do you have an event you'd like the Mobile Library to attend? Know a good place for the Mobile Library to stop? Email outreach@laportelibrary.org to get started.
