Free Reading Screening

Next Step Learning is an organization that helps students of all ages who struggle with reading and comprehension. Next Step is offering a free reading screening, using the Gray Oral Reading Test (GORT), so that parents can get a sense of their children's reading and comprehension abilities relative to their peers. The GORT is one of the most widely used assessments to gauge a student's reading speed and accuracy, as well as comprehension skills, including direct recall, inference, and critical reasoning. The assessment takes approximately 15-20 minutes, and after the assessment, the team at Next Step will be able to schedule individual meetings with parents to discuss the results.
