Event Details
Award-winning author Greg Neri brings his powerful storytelling and global adventures to life in this special evening event for people of all ages. From the streets of Southside Chicago and North Philly to snowy Siberia, wild South Africa, and the edge of Antarctica, Neri shares the journey that shaped him as a writer for young people.
Join us in person at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center, located at 1200 Spring St., Michigan City, IN 46360. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
A book signing will follow the presentation. Bring your own copy or purchase books at the event, courtesy of our local independent bookstore partner, The Press.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Greg Neri is the Michael L. Printz and Coretta Scott King award-winning author of such books as the bestselling Yummy: the Last Days of a Southside Shorty and Ghetto Cowboy, which was made into the movie, Concrete Cowboy, starring Idris Elba. His books have been translated into multiple languages in over 25 countries.
In 2017, he was awarded the first of two National Science Foundation grants that sent him to Antarctica; he is currently co-chair of the Antarctic Artists and Writers Collective. In 2023, he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from SUNY for his literary and Antarctic output.
