July 31, 2014 – La Porte County Public Library board of directors hired the architectural firm MKM.

April 24, 2014 – Ice Miller and Associates retained as bond counsel for the library by the La Porte County Public Library board of directors.

January 30, 2014 – La Porte County Public Library board of directors created a Master Planning Committee to included staff, community, and board members.

1988 – The 1920 Carnegie building was remodeled and enlarged.

1920 – A new building was built on the corner of Indiana and Maple Avenue with funds from the Carnegie Foundation.
