07 Mar Covering the Cost of College
Is your son or daughter thinking about career and college decisions? Or how about you? Are you thinking of returning to school in order to improve your job skills or to start a new career? (It’s never too late for that!) If so, you will need to fill out many forms related to financial aid to help cover the cost of college. There is an abundance of resources available to help you navigate through the process. That are so many in fact that it is hard to know where to start. These are a couple of easy to understand resources that can get you started. Homeroom is the official blog of the U.S Department of Education. This link will take you to their article, “7 Things You Need Before You Fill Out the 2018-19 FAFSA Form”. The information in the article is straightforward and will help you fill out the form quickly. Another great resource is offered by the U.S. Department of Education comes from the Federal Student Aid Office. Here is the direct link to their resource page.
Be aware that deadlines for filing your FAFSA vary from state to state. The deadline for the 2018-2019 academic year in Indiana is midnight (CST) on April 15, 2018. For other information available at the library, please visit any of the library’s locations or email the library at Ask a Librarian.
