Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of National Library Week April 8-14

11 Apr Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of National Library Week April 8-14

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries – school, public, academic and special – participate.

In honor of #NLW2018 the library is hosting the first in our series of READ┬áLOCAL author events, with none other than La Porte native, Karen Day. Karen will be speaking at the library on Thursday, April 12 at 6:00pm.┬áCome and listen as Karen speaks on her newest novel, I’ll Stay, and discusses other topics about her writing.
